Biography

My name is Ramona Kent and I live in Alexandria, Louisiana.  I have been a writer for more than 25 years. From 1990-1994 I was a columnist for Louisiana Sportsman Magazine and wrote a column called “Reptile Tales”.  My column included the stories of local Louisianians and their reptile encounters.   I was a contributing writer for the book called “Snakes Of Louisiana”.

I am a retired herpetologist which is the scientific study of reptiles.  Herpetology includes snakes, alligators, lizards and turtles.  I was previously employed with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as a field researcher, trapping, tagging and releasing alligator snapping turtles in the swamps and wetlands of Louisiana.  I have traveled extensively through out the state of Louisiana as well as other places collecting stories for my column and blog.  Anomar’s Journey is a work in progress, I hope you enjoy it.

What an exciting life you have lead! (I’m, for some strange reason, very interested in the southern states, although not sure why…LOL) I’m glad I found your blog…I look forward to reading more about your journey.
